Accomations owned by women who extend a special or exclusive welcome to women travelers.

 

  Seaside  
Seaside rentals may be located in either urban or rural zones
but are always within easy reach of coasts and beaches.

 

  Heartland France 
These rentals are located in cities, villages, farms, etc.
The ambiance may be urban or rural but never conjures up the idea that beaches are nearby (though sometimes they are just a half-hour or an hour's drive away).

 



      A few definitions
 

Gite is the French word for lodging in a private home, most usually in the country, but sometimes in a village. Basic amenities include a living room area, a kitchen or kitchenette, one or several bedrooms, and private bathroom. You're usually on your own for meals.

 

A guest house offers you a furnished bedroom (or suite).
The property may be in either an urban or in a rural area.
Rate base is generally per night and most often includes breakfast sometimes other meals.

 

A self-catering rental can be an entire villa, bungalow, chalet, mazet, studio or apartment. These furnished rentals may be astonishingly luxurious or quite modest. You're on your own for meals.
Rate base may be by the week, fortnight (two weeks), or month.

 

Camp grounds are sites that can accommodate tents and/or motor homes (RVs). Some camp sites also rent out motor homes, bungalows, etc. Amenities include: bathrooms, water and electrical hook ups, and they often have a swimming pool. You're usually on your own for meals.
